Organic Raw Baobab Fruit Powder

Organic Raw Baobab Fruit & Powder
Our organic raw baobab fruit powder is sustainably grown and produced in Malawi. Offering a valuable source of income to whole communities. The baobab tree is native to many African countries where it hold a high cultural significance, being known as "The Tree of Life". All parts of the tree offer useful elements; the fibres are woven into ropes, nets and baskets, the roots make a rich red dye and even the pods are used as culinary pots. Yet most significantly, the raw dried fruit pulp is incredibly nutritious and tasty!
The baobab dried fruit pulp is ground into a soft, cream coloured powder which has a bright, zesty sherbet caramel flavour. The high fibre content ensures the natural fruit sugars are metabolised slowly by the body, making baobab an excellent choice for transitioning away from conventional "free sugar" in well loved recipes. Baobab powder is high in fibre, vitamin c and contains a source of iron (see nutrient chart tab for values).
How to use
Baobab makes a wonderful addition to smoothies, juices, dressings and baking. We love to use baobab as a topping for porridge and paired with moringa in an uplifting morning green drink.
Average serving size: 10 grams (2 teaspoons)
As with introducing all new foods, start small and work your way up over a period of time that feels best for you as an individual. A small serving would be equal to half a teaspoon.
